Reynier Village Neighborhood Association
RVNA started operating unofficially in 2005 and was officially formed in 2007. The purpose of the association is to improve the quality of life in our community.
We are working towards maintaining a viable residential neighborhood that is clean, safe and an enjoyable place to live. Here are our achievements so far:
Worked with LAPD and CPAB (Community Police Advisory Board) to create Neighborhood Watch groups on many blocks and posted N.W. signs throughout the area.
Hired private armed security company, Alexander Patrol Service (APS) to patrol our streets.
Work closely with Councilman Herb Wesson's office and our LAPD Senior Lead Officer Mario Gonzales to keep informed and active in goings on that affect RVNA.
Worked with NoRobertsonStripClub.com to try to get the SKIN strip club shut down or at least made to operate under very tight restrictions. Unfortunately, their permit was issued in November 2008. But the fight united us with leaders from our neighboring communities. We are now connected and will continue to work together to keep all of SORO (South Robertson) the best it can be.
Set up Block Captains to keep their blocks informed and connected, including distributing flyers and newsletters as needed.
Built an e-mail list of almost 300 that we use to inform residents of upcoming events.
Currently membership is at 111. In RVNA we have approximately 500 homes. Our goal is 100% membership.
Set up Park Night. Several evenings throughout the summer residents come together at Reynier Park for dinner and socializing. We've been providing great themed evenings such as Pizza Night and more.
Reynier Village Home & Garden Blog was created in 2009 to share tips on home improvements, energy conservation, vegetable gardens.
Through Park Night and Membership we have come together as a community. We work with SoRo (our South Robertson Neighborhood Council) and have many residents on their board. If you are not already an RVNA member please consider joining.
